Ang Huling El Bimbo sa TV (McDonald’s Philippines TV Commercial)
Spill. Let’s just say I’m bored. There’s nothing special to write about (as I used to). Maybe as I go along, I’ll find something.
Heard of Eraserheads’ Huling El Bimbo lately? No, It’s not about anybody else’s playlist. I heard it on TV just this afternoon, probably minutes after I woke up from bed and have a seat in my favorite den (the sofa in front of the PC). The song was pretty refreshing (although those were just refrains and bridges). My eyes were glued on the computer, as I was hearing it. It was a bit too late for me to know that it was a McDonald’s TV ad. I liked the ad eventhough I haven’t saw it full yet (that’s how mindset works for me.lol). Televisions are audio-visuals, that was before I knew and fell in love with boredom. I find it funny that I am trying to kill my boredom through boring acts-surfing the net, refreshing my Friendster, and Multiply Inboxes a thousand times just to check if there’s something new for me.Head over heels with boredom. Lol.
Going back, I waited long enough (about 20 minutes) for the said ad to air. This time I was lucky enough to see the whole thing. Still, my eyes were glued on the PC. Did I just say lucky enough? Yeah. Without any apparent reason, I took a glance at the TV, and there it goes…
Two cute kids, buzzing around like bees (forgive me about the metaphor, I also love Jollibee.lol) ,grew up, experienced the frenzy called love for the first time, but not ending up with each other. They met on a fair yet random day; one still single, the other one with a kid and a husband (the crappy yet most relevant scene for me), and eventually re-experienced the same old used-to-be’s (dipping the fries on a Sundae, to be exact). First love.
The strange look in their eyes suggests hmmm. It’s for you to see. I like the ad. I like the story. I don’t care if they fell in love with each other just because they both love to dip the fries on a sundae. Lol. I just like the way they put the symbiosis of the story and the marketing on a 30 second flick. Moreso, I love the music on the background. It’s everything minus the mushiness-makes me wanna go back to my first love, too.
