Wait till these images say their piece…

The teaser said it all. Take a closer look, and in sight are women. Yes, they are men’s counterpart, doing their part.
It was a fair Sunday, when Ate Nene, a kasambahay, felt an urge of somewhat odd in nature. She volunteered to climb up the stark coconut tree outside our house. I felt a sudden rush of ridicule. Is this person joking? Well, I guess she was not, as I heard my mom screaming out of concern. So I took a peep in the window from my mom’s room and have to believe what I was seeing. In an impulse, I took the cam and seized the moment. And yes, that picture was what I saw.
Days ago, a friend Inday (not her real name), offered me a ride in her three week old car, once endorsed by Britney. It was nothing unusual for me then, not until we had a ride with just the two of us. It was as if Im with a daredevil, I should say. But thank God, we’re still alive. Inday is a good driver…Uhmmm, not yet, still becoming to be one, perhaps (sounds bitter though). Not until she had managed to keep the engine going in the intersections, lanes, and green lights, then that’s the time I’ll hail her one.
I said to myself once, If I’ll see a female konduktor, then this world is becoming to be limitless. And oh, I don’t know if it was by fate or just an accident that I had a jeepney ride with a female konduktor in it. I saw many of them before, although. I guess they are drivers’ wives trying to do the audits. But what I saw was different. Apart from those sitting beside or rear their husbands, this woman was on the jeepney’s passenger entrance clinging with her hands on those rusty bars. I was about to take a picture then, but it was too dark, ,moreover the flash would be a scene to about 20 other passengers.
I was thinking then, if Inday, or Ate Nene could do what I have just witnessed.
What’s the point then? You might ask me. Nothing big, just trying to advocate equality. Women need not empowerment, they already have it. What they need is a release from the bondage they made themselves. Gone are the sexist (and racist) days. Today, everything has counterparts, evrything is vice versa.
